Asmir Begović (born June 20, 1987) is a Bosnian footballer who plays in the goalkeeper for Bournemouth club in the Premier League and the national football team of Bosnia and Hercegovina. Begović started playing at a local football club before his family moved to Edmonton, Canada. In the summer of 2003, he joined Portsmouth's youth team and was later loaned out at La Louvière, Macclesfield Town, Bournemouth, Yeovil Town and Ipswich Town. In May 2009, he had his first match in the Premier League for Portsmouth. In January 2010, Portsmouth sold Begović to Stoke City for a transfer fee of £ 3.25 million. He was selected as the best player in the 2012-13 season of Stoke City. Begović currently holds the record as the player with the longest goal [2] and the fastest goalie [3] in football history (92 meters) in the match against Southampton on 2 May. 11, 2013.
