In Hai Phong, there is only one civil service airport, Cat Bi International Airport is the first airport of the North built from the French colonial period. The city is upgrading Cat Bi airport according to the standard of 4E civil airport, stage 1 to 2015, ensuring to receive B747 limited-load aircraft, B777-300, B777-200, A321 . New construction of runway No. 2, with a length of 3050m, width of 60m. Aircraft parking is expanded into 8 parking locations. Renovating the No. 1 runway (old) into a taxiway of 3,050m long, 44m wide. Total investment capital in phase 1 is VND 5 trillion. Currently the most valuable airline in Vietnam VietJet Air has selected Cat Bi International Port as a Hub (parking) for its airline, the company also proposed to build a second station, socialized capital, expected. In the fourth quarter, 2017 will start construction of this new station.
