Other important poets of the UAE are Mubarak Al Oqaili (1880-1954), Salem bin Ali al Owais (1887-1959) and Abdulla bin Sulayem (1905-1976). One of Ibn Masjid's most outstanding works is the book called Kitab al-Fawa'id fi. Usul 'Ilm al-Bahr wa' l-Qawa'id (Useful Information Book on Principles and Navigation Rules), and it was written in 1490. This book is really an encyclopedia about navigation and sailing in and around the Indian Ocean. Masjid also went into details about the complexities and technologies of Arabian sailing techniques.
